Microbiology

Overview

Microbiology tests identify a full range of human pathogens through culture from a wide variety of specimens that include feces, urine, blood, sputum, swabs, cerebrospinal fluid, synovial fluid, and infected tissue.

Once identified, the samples undergo antibiotic or anti-fungal susceptibility testing to determine whether the pathogen is sensitive or resistant to a suggested condition. The results allow health care practitioners to determine the treatment, and type and amount of drugs that must be prescribed for a given patient.

Our Microbiology tests are performed using the latest and most advanced equipment available to test, screen, confirm and quantitate extraneous substances within any blood sample. Our clinical testing support staff provide all additional information necessary to ensure you receive all that you need, whenever you need it.  Please note that when ordering test for which medicare or medicaid reimbursement will be sought, physician should only order test that are medically necessary for the diagnosis or treatment of the patient.
