Chemistry

Overview

Clinical chemistry is the study of chemical and biochemical mechanisms of the body in relation to disease, mostly through the analysis of body fluids such as blood or urine.

The type of chemistry testing performed depends on what medical information is being screened. Tests can be performed as part of routine physical exams, when looking for problems such as low or high blood glucose level, low iron, etc., examining a specific health condition, preparing for a medical procedure, and/or checking how well a treatment is working.

Our chemistry tests are performed using the latest and most advanced equipment available to test, screen, confirm and quantitate substances within any blood sample. CBS Labs’ clinical testing staff is available for consultation and can provide any additional information necessary to ensure the best outcomes for your patient. Please note that when ordering test for which Medicare or Medicaid reimbursement will be sought, physicians should only order tests that are medically necessary for the diagnosis or treatment of the patient.
